six months
zero point five years
I have a barrage of cliches festering in my fingertips as i type this...OHMYGODTHEYAREGROWINGUPSOFAST...ooops. One slipped out.
To celebrate on the 23rd we took the twins to get shots. They seem to like their doc...Dr. Fantastic we call him. He even gave them books to eat take home and read. Im afraid, however, that he could give them all the gifts in the world and he would still have no chance against the exam table paper as #1.
The night of the 23rd Marmee and Katy joined us for nachos. Keeping with the mexican theme, the twins got a little mashed avacado and banana.
CALVIN
First and foremost...I think you may be able to surrender your title as Mr. Regurgitation. FINALLY. You still spit up some...but not nearly as much and not nearly as often.
You weigh 18 lbs. and 15 oz. and you are 26.5 inches long.
Your head is still enormous.
You have a TOOTH! It is the sweetest little tooth, right in front on the bottom left.
You can sit up on your own, but you much prefer to have someone hold your hands while you stand.
Everything you touch goes into your mouth. You can take out your pacifier and put it back in.
You roll all over the place. You also have a funny little army crawl/scoot that you will sometimes use to get from point A to point B.
You are LOUD and you have a slew of noises that you make.
And now for what I know you readers really want :)
SLOAN
Ms. Busybody. We keep waiting for you to take off crawling. You sit up like a champ--holding toys sitting up, looking around sitting up, hardly ever falling over sitting up.
You weigh 17 lbs even and you are 26.5 inches long.
You love being on the ground with your toys.
You have learned that you can steal things from your brother...toys, pacifiers, anything really. Luckily he hasn't started to protest this yet.
You are constantly moving-kicking your legs, bouncing, rolling.
You have the best happy noise...in fact, in the picture I am about to post you are making both your happy face and happy noise. The noise goes something like "HHHAAAAAAAAHHH"
No teeth yet...but if we could bottle drool and sell it we would be millionaires.
Happy happy happy
The twins are eating 2 solid meals a day (lunch and dinner) and getting 5 bottles (about 6 oz each bottle). I have been making most of their food (using store bought oatmeal and rice). So far they have had:
Bananas, avacado, sweet potato, green beans, apples, peaches, oatmeal, rice
Both started out with pretty poor eating skills, but after a few weeks of practice they are like little hoovers at meal time.
Sleep. ooooohhhhhh we are so lucky when it comes to sleep. Unless something crazy is going on the twins will go to bed at 8 and sleep until about 6:30. Morning nap is hit and miss, afternoon nap is usually long and we have learned...incredibly neccesary!!!
The pair has had several sleepovers at both Marmee's house and Papa & Lolli's house. They also went to their first Hampton family reunion. In addition to meeting all of the adult Hampton crew...they also got to meet their small people cousins: Rylee, Emilee, and William!
We had our first family trip to the lake(thanks steph!)!!! Think covered floaty rafts, small floaty toys, lots of spf. I think their favorite part was trying to suck on the bottom of mama's miller light can.
The past couple months have been fun...we are super excited to see what the next months bring: more solid foods, more smiles and laughs, crawling? teeth? even less vomit? attitudes? less illness? (because apparently it is has been decided that I will catch whatever the babies catch---save Hand Foot and Mouth diseasae THANK GOD).
